May is Campaign Kickoff month and we were thrilled to have so many people show up for our event on May 20. We were especially glad to have some new faces!
We got to hear from Township Committee member Matt Scott about why he’s running for a third term. In particular, he described how well the current configuration of the TC is working together to get things done. With many projects underway, Matt wants to help keep up the momentum.
Mayor Michael Ferrante also spoke briefly about the spectrum of perspectives represented by the current TC and the respectful and thorough nature of their work as a team.
The event also included recognition of CDC member David Nissen, for his many years of service to Cranbury’s Democratic party and for shaping the trajectory of the town over the course of 30 years. David will serve as an emeritus member starting in June.
Chair Cassie Shea explained how the CDC works to help Democratic candidates with their election campaigns and invited all who are interested to sign up to help.
After the primary on June 6, there will be much to do from canvassing to phone banking. We do as much outreach to the community as possible to help get the word out about who our candidate is and why we support him.
