Cranbury is governed by a five person Township Committee. The mayor is not elected by the residents but rather is appointed by the other Township Committee members on an annual basis. Township Committee members receive an annual stipend.
The Township Committee is supported by boards, committees, and commissions, the members of which are unpaid volunteers.
Any resident with appropriate skills can apply to sit on the governance bodies (click here to go to the application). The TC members appoint the members from among the applicants whenever a seat comes open.
