How to Vote Early Through Vote by Mail [from the latest MCDO update]

The Middlesex County Clerk’s Office began mailing out vote by mail ballots to voters on the permanent vote by mail list and to voters who recently requested to receive a vote by mail ballot 45 days before the election. The commencement of mailing of vote by mail ballots for the June 2026 Primary Elections began on April 18, 2026.

You can check whether or not you should be receiving a vote by mail ballot by looking up your voter profile on the NJ Division of Elections website.

If you have not received your vote by mail ballot by May 1, 2026, fill out and send in a replacement ballot request form before June 1, 2026, to receive a replacement vote by mail ballot. Call the County Clerk’s Office (732-745-4202) if you have questions about receiving a vote by mail ballot.

Vote by mail ballots must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (June 2) to be counted.

No postage is necessary to vote by mail, but the fastest way to ensure your vote by mail ballot is processed is to return it using the drop box located in your town. For Cranbury residents, the closest drop box is located in front of the Cranbury Police Department (One Logan Dr, Cranbury, NJ).

If you still have your vote by mail ballot, it must be dropped off in one of the 34 drop boxes in Middlesex County before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd, to make sure it is received in time to count!! DO NOT PLACE YOUR BALLOT IN THE MAIL UNLESS YOU CAN GUARANTEE THAT THE POST OFFICE WILL POSTMARK IT ON OR BEFORE JUNE 2, 2026If returning by mail it is best to do so at least a week prior to the election!
